Hand-harvested from Betsek Cru in late October 2017. Intense aroma of tropical fruits and apricot, this is a creamy and well-rounded wine showcasing an approachable and easy-drinking side of the wines from the Tokaj region, situated in the volcanic highlands of North Eastern Hungary.
Food pairing: It goes perfectly with glazed ham, while the natural tartness of an apple or cherry pie is perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the wine. At Christmas time, why not pair it with a slice of Christmas pudding or mince pie?
The boutique Balassa winery was established in 2005 by Istvan Balassa in the historic Tokaj region. Right from the beginning, Istvan, a perfectionist and more of an incredible geologist than just an amazing viticulturist, has been determined to produce only the highest-quality wines possible by maximising the potential of each vintage. It all starts with growing grapes of an outstanding quality, applying a rigorous approach to cultivation. Each wine is then created using artisanal wine-making methods, highlighting the unique characteristics of the grape, the vineyard and the terroir. Istvan Balassa is arguably the best viticulturist in Hungary.
