Tokaji Aszú
6 Puttonyos 2010

The harvest of the year 2010 proved to be a much cooler vintage and the grapes were left to ripen on the vines for longer than usual. Carefully selected berries were then hand harvested from four separate vineyards and aged in a single 225 litre oak barrel. The character of the vintage shines through, with notes of tobacco, chocolate and jam.

Tasting notes: Deep gold colour and a complex, intense nose packed with honey, flowers and rich spiced fruit. Creamy mouthfeel balanced by gentle yet stable acidity. Apricot jam and orange peel, honey and sweet spices on the palate. Beautifully made, complex wine with a long dried fruit and floral finish.

Limited bottling of 400, exclusive to KTT Ltd.

Food pairing: Great alongside roast duck with orange or plum sauce as well as spicy Asian dishes. Asźu is the ultimate dessert wine, perfect on its own and when partnered with cakes and patisserie, especially fruit cakes or crème brûlée macarons. For the more savoury palates, it pairs amazingly with blue-cheeses including Gorgonzola, Stilton or Roquefort.
